Houssein Ahssimi

Houssein Ahssimi

To have a globally impactful business, it’s essential for us to work with a global footprint of people who can help us think through how technology should be designed. This diversity of backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives is integral for helping us to bring Qwasar to the most difficult to reach places in Africa and Housseini’s perspective has been invaluable in helping us refine how we approach our implementation in Africa. His ambition to fill Africa’s technology gap is matched only by his determination to effect positive change across African countries.

Houssein is a passionate geek who uses his skills on projects that have a strong impact on the communities. He develops some apps such as YALI Learns App where you can take free courses on entrepreneurship, good governance, women’s rights, and public administration management. Recently he builds the curriculum and the platform of Niger First school with a focus on programming. His impact on the communities he served has naturally enabled him to win several national and international competitions. Houssein is an alumnus of Mandela Washington Fellowship, a prestigious program of the former President of the United State, Barack Obama. One of the strengths that Houssein defined for our company is improvement through iteration. This is not unique to startup philosophies but we have never worked with anyone who embodies the dedication to it as Houssein does. His lack of ego and dedication to teaching and documentation means that lessons he learns will always be share out to his peers.
